The Republican backlash of 1964 resulted in an unbalanced House and Senate, as well as a Democratic Executive. During this 89th Congress, all manner of expensive Social programs were passed as law.  Medicare remains.

Maintaining Social Security has been a major political issue for the last 25 years. In addition, it unites a large consistent voting block.

We must ensure that Social Security is there for the seniors that need it

As the Baby Boomer generation retires, Medicare will also become a  major political issue, however, instead of 45 million seniors, there will be 80 million.

Unlike fixed Social Security costs, Medicare costs increase at 10 percent a year. In addition, the drug companies, the malpractice insurance companies, the lawyers, the lumbering government, all take a cut. Only 50 percent  of current Medicare revenue go to the people who truly do the good work (doctors, nurses, and fixed costs) .

If we are ever to provide health insurance at a reasonable cost to all Americans, we must first eliminate the inefficient economy of Medicare. John McCain's Healthcare reform innitiatives will do this.

Our young Americans can no longer watch from the sidelines and be oblivious to their own futures.  Each Young American must get involved.  They must register to vote, encourage group dialogue, gain consensus, unite and let their voices be heard. This is their future.

The alternative is being slave to the 111th Congress taxation schemes  and greedy parasitic special interest groups for the next 30 years.
