Instead of taxing everyone in this country $2,000 per every man, women, and child to bail out the banks, lets have our mortgages streamlined by 1/2 percent and give the government $5,000 to $10,000! We will make up the $5000 in reduced payments and reduced interest! Create a public real estate trust, issue equity shares for your $5,000 or $10,000 bail out burden, and then rent out the defaulted property. The rental amount would be returned as a dividend to the $5,000 or $10,000 bailout burden. After the housing Market and economy have completely readjusted, allow bail out burden stake holders to recapture their $5,000 or $10,000 equity share. We need to reward those who did not over extend themselves and played by the rules..............Otherwise the government gets a blank check to pay toward anything they want and reap all the reward!

Our Auto industry is part of our overall national security agenda. During WW2, GM, Chrysler, and Ford supplied the Allied powers with truck, tanks, and all manner of vehicles. Without this manufacturing capability, we could never have supplied The Soviet Union with the 10s of thousands of trucks they needed to defeat Nazi Germany. Our Domestic manufacturers cannot compete with foreign automobile manufacturers in countries that devalue their currency, pay labor camp wages, and have zero safety and environmental laws; therefore, I will seek legislation that banns these countries from selling cars in America. Retire C-5A Galaxy fleet , re-engine C-5B galaxy fleet (RERP) and keep C-17 Globemaster III production line open. Add 50 C-17s to exsisting fleet with end strength of 230 C-17 Globemaster IIIs. Add extended range tank to eliminate need for Air refueling on most stategic air/land missions.

Retrofit aging KC-135R Tanker fleet with new fuel savings technologies and re-skin corrosion prone areas "as needed" . Retire all non R model high time KC-135 airframes. Transfer KC-135R models to Air National Guard and Reserves. Start engineering for 787 Dreamliner tanker ( duplicate Japan's current 787 fuselage tooling and start a production line in Oregon). A large Tanker fleet was required to support the B-52 Nuclear mission when there was some 742 B-52s, this is not the case anymore. We can get by with a smaller fleet of Tankers. ( This is an employer for our children. They provide jobs to the students of every engineering school in Oregon)

Restore stability in Iraq: I adhere to Duncan Hunter's Iraq strategy verbatum. Rotate the Iraqi battalions into the fight, give them solid combat experience, and stand them up. Then we rotate our heavy units out on a one for one basis and redeploy them elsewhere. personally I feel Iraq should be invited into NATO when and if Turkey and the Northern Kurds rectify their situation. I think then, Europe would be compelled to add Turkey to the EEC. Although I do not think the EEC can handle the disparity in wage structure . The average wage in Turkey is 50 dollars a month.
Release Guantanamo detainees to their native country legal systems ( Guantanamo is a violation of the Geneva Convention and basic human rights and has gone on long enough) Prosecute the Alqeada leaders and let the soldiers go home. Even if they were Taliban soliders, they were soldiers of the exsisting legitimate government and were just fighting for their country; therefore, they have the rights as 'legal combatants' under the Geneva convention.

Preserve Social Security by making Social Security and Medicare "need based" and trimming federal spending by 20 percent. Some federal and state employees are allowed to triple dip. For Example, some people may have an active duty military retirement, a state retirement, and they still take Social Security. People with adequate retirement incomes should not receive Social security. How can you expect a youngster on a low paying globalized service job to pay for the Social security of a retiree that makes 5 grand a month? When Social Security was started under FDR, the ratio was 28 to 1. now it is 2.5 to 1, so you do the math! It is shameful what our Government has done to the Security Trust. Had the money over a 75 year period been invested in secure stocks, such as Real estate contracts, staples , or secure stocks, there would be more money than could every be spent. Instead the money goes directly to recipients and the trust is made up of low yield treasury notes.

Germany provides healthcare for 82,500,000 for less cost ($330 billion)then our current Medicare system does for 45,000,000 ($354 billion) seniors.
I am a strong voice for our next generation. The Baby Boomer generation leaving the work force (25 to 30 percent) and being eligible for entitlements over the next 10 to 20 years presents many challenges. There will be approximately 150 million workers to support 80 million retired individuals on entitlements. Combine this with 80 million retirees selling off stocks, mutual funds, and housing for a more secure retirement life style, and we have a big economic problem facing our coming generations. Throw in rampant government spending, the national debt, credit card debt, rising food , fuel and housing costs and paying for their own medical insurance and our childrens futures will be leveraged to the hilt.
We must honor our commitments to "need based" senior health and security, however, we must also preserve opportunity for our children. There must be a compromise! We can start by limiting government, making entitlements "need based", restoring our manufacturing base through tax incentives, and higher immigration quotas. All Western culture population birth rates have declined over the past 20 years. Germany, Japan, France, England, Italy , for example ,are not replacing themselves, in fact there is negatvive growth.The sooner we recruit qualified and educated emigrants from across the globe , the sooner we will deal with our baby boomer and tax base issues. The other alternative is offshoring of American jobs to fill the massive labor shortages we will have very soon.
All Americans should have affordable healthcare. However, special interests such as: the American Medical Association, insurance companies, drug companies, malpractice lawyers, malpractice awards, Congressmen and Senators all want to maintain the status quo. A status quo where the tax paying citizen has to pay exhorbidant costs for healthcare. Some Democrats feel that the small business owner should pay healthcare for the employee, himself, Medicare Part B, while the employee pays Medicare part B also. So a small business owner will pay for Healthcare 3 times. True Socialized medicine will never happen in this country. Doctors should not be forced to work in government controlled Healthcare anyways.
The bottom line; the ambulance chasers have got to go!
Insurance companies must lower their policy costs. Malpractice awards must be elliminated or lowered to a standardized cap. Drug companies have to stop their 25 billion dollar ad campaigns. Finally, our young voters need to step up to the plate.
